"I'll Go With Grandpa"

45”x24”x11”

Colour pencil on coloured paper

Observational coloured pencil drawing exploring fine details and shape. Depictions of the modern grocery stores I visit in Canada as a hobby now compared with the wet markets I would voluenteerly visit with my grandpa when I was younger in China. An observational coloured-pencil drawing exploring fine detail and form through the contrast between modern Canadian grocery stores I visit myself today and the wet markets I explored with my grandfather as a child in China. Through these familiar yet distinct environments, I reflect on how the places that become part of our daily routines change across cultures and time.
